Plans have been approved for a 8-bedroom house of multiple occupation (HMO) to be converted into flats.

The property - 20 Purbeck Road in West Cliff - will be transformed into three one-bed and two-bed flats and there has been no objections from residents.

Chairman David Kelly welcomed the scheme on the 21st November at a planning board meeting

Board member Gina Mackin left the room while the item was discussed.

No parking plans have been made yet for the flats, but there are believed to be fewer residents than the HMO, which would reduce the pressure on the near roads.

Concerns were raised by Cllr. Stephen Bartlett about the size of the flats being too small but it was later found that the size fits within the council's recommendations.
