Operation Galaxy is a project, focused mainly on the HMOs ( Houses of Multiple Occupation) and improvig the living stndrds there. It is supported by Dorset Fire and Rescue, Dorset Police, the Bournemouth Borough Council, many local businesses and volunteers.
These HMOs are considered a key issue causing the high crime levels in the area.
Since Operation Galaxy was started in December 2013, there has been significant reduction in the number of HMOs, some of them have been closed down, others improved their living standards.

The Perception Partnership

The newest project called The Perception Prtnership is to be set up in January 2017 by Inspector Alan Setchell from Dorset Police.
It is going to be aimed at removing the stigma behind Boscombe and people associating it with drug dealing.
Volunteers, residents, police officers and the council will put together their efforts of making the area lovely and welcoming again by sharing ideas, bringing arts, exhibitions, positive events and families to the neighbourhood.
More about the partnership you can find in January.
